Planning & Zoning

On May 18, 2017, the City Council approved new zoning regulations that were adopted by Ordinance 661. The purpose of these regulations are intended to serve the following purposes:

  • Promote the public health, safety, comfort and general welfare in the City and protect and control the aesthetics of redevelopment and new development
  • Establish a variety of zoning classifications according to the use of land and buildings with varying uses and standards
  • To regulate and restrict height, size, and distance
  • To protect property, historical values, conserve energy and natural resources, provide adequate light and air, and acceptable noise levels
  • To provide adequate public notice on proposed changes in regulations, zoning maps, and the opportunity to be heard on zoning matters

These regulations apply to all buildings, structures, and land within the corporate limits of the City of Rose Hill.
