OFFICIAL NOTICE OF A PUBLIC HEARING FOR PROPOSED AMENDMENT TO THE OFFICIAL ZONING MAP OF THE CITY OF ROSE HILL, KANSAS.
TO WHOM IT MAY CONCERN AND TO ALL PERSONS INTERESTED:
Notice is hereby given that a proposed amendment to the City of Rose Hill Official Zoning Map will be reviewed by the City of Rose Hill Planning Commission on Tuesday, April 14, 2026, shortly after 6:00 p.m. at the Rose Hil City Hall Council Chambers located at 125 W. Rosewood, Rose Hill, Kansas 67133.
The Zoning Regulations govern the use of land and structures and the location of buildings within the City and establish various zoning district classifications and boundaries thereof for residential, commercial and industrial purposes. The Regulations define terms used in the Regulations; regulate the maximum dimensions of buildings and other structures through minimum setback lines and lot areas; provide for and regulate vehicular parking space; regulate the types, size and location of signs, reestablish the Board of Zoning Appeals and prescribe its duties; provide for the appointment of administrative officials and prescribe their duties; provide for fees to be charged for amendments, special uses, appeals and permits; establish a means for amending the Regulations, Map and Ordinance and provide for penalties for violation of the provisions; and a means of enforcement. The proposed Official Zoning Map utilizes the zoning district boundaries provided by the Zoning Regulations previously adopted by Ordinance No. 697 and reflects the changes in district boundaries since then as well as annexations.
Copies of the Zoning Regulations and Official Zoning Map are available to be reviewed from the Zoning Administrator at City Hall in Rose Hill, Kansas during regular business hours.
After hearing the views and wishes of the public, the Planning Commission may close the hearing and consider a recommendation to the Governing Body, which, if approved, will be adopted by ordinance. The public hearing may be recessed and continued from time to time without notice.
