The Mayor and City Council are interested in receiving letters of interest and qualifications from qualified electors to fill an upcoming Rose Hill City Council vacancy. It is the intent of the Mayor and City Council to make the appointment on Tuesday, January 20, 2026. If successful, the newly appointed member of the council will be sworn in on Monday, February 2, 2026. The City Council term expires January of 2028. To be eligible to serve, persons must be a registered voter and a resident of Rose Hill. The Mayor makes the appointment, subject to City Council consent. Appointment consideration will be in a public meeting, and letters of interest/qualification will be open for review by the public. Please submit your letter of interest/qualifications by 5:00 p.m., on January 5, 2026, to: City Clerk at City Hall at 125 N. 4/16/2025- Street Work Notice
The City of Rose Hill contracted with Vance Brothers of Kansas City, MO, for micro surfacing of E. Silknitter, E. Rosewood and a portion of Sienna Drive.
Currently, the schedule is for the contractor to clean the affected streets on Tuesday, April 22nd and apply surfacing on Wednesday, April 23rd. It should take two days for surfacing to be applied to the streets. Unfortunately, there is rain in the forecast and this may move the schedule.
The contractor will be placing door hangers in the affected areas prior to work commencing. Business entrances will be blocked temporarily for up to 30 minutes or until the material cures enough for cross traffic. Silknitter and Rosewood will both maintain one way traffic during operations. Sienna Drive will be completely closed during operations but should reopen in the afternoon. If these areas are on your driving route, you may want to consider driving on a different street to work or school.
