Building Inspection

The City Building Official is responsible for the enforcement of codes and ordinances that pertain to building and construction, health & welfare, and zoning issues. The Building Official is responsible for the administration and inspection of Building, Housing, Electrical, Plumbing and Mechanical Codes regulating construction, renovation, demolition, additions and occupancy of all buildings and structures within the city limits and reviewing all building plans and permits submitted to the inspection office.The Building Inspection Department receives, investigates and acts upon reports of ordinance violations covering public nuisances and conditions affecting public health, safety and welfare as well as other city codes.The city has adopted the 2006 Editions of the International Building Codes and the 2008 Edition of the National Electric Code. The Building Official helps maintain and improve the quality of our community by enforcing the municipal codes in a fair and unbiased approach in every instance.

  • The City is currently working under the 2006 addition of the ICodes. Adoption of the 2015 ICodes is in process and will be made available once adopted.
