Rose Hill Police Department
It is my desire as the Chief of the Rose Hill Police Department to provide the best possible service to the community (our customers) with regard to law enforcement, crime prevention and community education programs This philosophy has been communicated down through the ranks and is a part of our department’s core values. Without an excellent relationship with you we cannot, as effectively, provide the high level of service that we strive to achieve.
Law Enforcement is an often difficult job which naturally puts us in a “confrontational” position with citizens. Nobody likes to receive a ticket, have a violation of law pointed out to them, be arrested, have a traffic accident or be the victim of a burglary or other crime. Often, an officer’s enforcement actions not only affect the person being cited or arrested, but can affect their families. Unfortunately, that nature of the relationship between the police department and you (our customers) means that we are not usually needed until you are having a “less than perfect” day.
Officers are trained to handle high stress situations and to deal professionally with persons when emotions run high. However, officers are human too, and as such, may be having a bad day themselves and appear less courteous than normal. This is in no way an excuse for bad behavior on the part of any member of this department but merely intended to offer you some insight as you reflect on a contact you may have had.
If you have a complaint against an officer you can fill out the form found by following the link below and submit it to me. You can also come to the department any time Monday thru Friday from 8am to 5pm and speak with me personally, send an e-mail or contact me by phone. I assure you that all complaints are thoroughly investigated and appropriately handled if founded. I strongly encourage you to contact me by either way indicated above if you have a complaint or have observed an officer acting in a manner that poorly reflects upon the profession and this department. Your input helps ensure the character and integrity of the Rose Hill police department.
Respectfully submitted, Chief Robert S. Sage
